Our New AI Co-workers: Some Things to Know About Their History and Habits

Kristina Striegnitz is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at Union College.

Before moving to Union, Kristina was a postdoc in Justine Cassell’s lab at Northwestern University. Kristina did a joint PhD at the Department of Computational Linguistics at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany and at Loria in Nancy, France.

Kristina’s research interests are in:

• Computing education, in particular for students from non-computing majors
• Natural language generation for interactive systems that are situated in physical or virtual environments
• Generation of stories from data that combine text and visualizations
